Courtney C. Williams is an associate attorney in our firm, focusing her practice on employment law matters, litigation, premise liability, product liability, matters involving the Virginia Department of Health Professions, Virginia Unemployment Claims and Appeals, and personal injury litigation.
Ms. Williams was born and raised in East Tennessee. She majored in Applied Psychology and Religion at Carson-Newman College, where she also interned with local law firms, judges, prosecuting offices, and volunteered at a local Boys & Girls Club. While in law school at William and Mary, Ms. Williams served as Honor Council Deputy Chief Justice, was an active member of the legal journal Environmental Law and Policy Review, and earned honors in Legal Skills—reflective of excellence in research, writing, analysis, trial and appellate practice, and client relations. Additionally throughout law school, Ms. Williams participated in pro-bono legal clinics, interned at the Virginia Department of Health Professions, a small law firm, and the Tennessee Department of Health, Office of General Counsel, where she helped indigent residents gain access to AIDS medication and life-sustaining care.
Ms. Williams serves as an Alumni Ambassador for William and Mary School of Law and on the Public Relations Committee for the Norfolk Portsmouth Bar Association where she is also an active member of the Young Lawyers Division. She is further involved in charitable efforts in the community through raising money with a local circle for CHKD and in other service projects sponsored by the state and local bar associations.
Ms. Williams is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She is also admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
