In
addition to her passion for helping injured children and adults
as the result of medical negligence, Mrs. Hammer has vast experience
in representing the injured against corporations and insurance
companies. Whether a person has been injured as the result of
a defective product or a hazardous condition, no injury should
go unrecognized that is the result of negligence.
Mrs. Hammer
was born in Norfolk, Virginia and raised in Chesapeake. She
has been a resident of Tidewater her whole life. Amberley Hammer
earned her B.A. in English, cum laude, from Old Dominion University
in 1995 and her J.D., cum laude, from Syracuse University College
of Law in 1998. Amberley was admitted to the Virginia Bar in
1998 and served as a federal law clerk from 1998 to 1999 in
the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. She is admitted to practice in the
United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals,
Fourth Circuit, and United States District Court, Eastern and
Western Districts of Virginia. She served as the Chair of the
Young Lawyers Section for the Norfolk-Portsmouth Bar Association
where she oversaw community projects. She is a member of the
Virginia, Federal, and Norfolk-Portsmouth Bar Associations and
has served on the Publication and CLE Committees of the Virginia
Trial Lawyers. Mrs. Hammer has been named as one of Virginia’s
Rising Stars in Super Lawyers Magazine from 2006 through 2010.
She has also been a Guest Faculty for the Marshall-Wythe
School of Law, College of William & Mary. Mrs. Hammer
recently received a Commendation of Distinction Certificate
by the Norfolk School Board in 2009 for assisting middle school
students in the Mock Trial Program. Mrs. Hammer’s practice
areas include Medical Negligence, Personal Injury and Civil
Litigation.
